Accounting System Partner Program for MSPs
Refer clients who need accounting or financial system help. We handle the engagement. You keep the relationship.
Tell Us About Your MSP
Argus Consulting Group’s MSP partner program lets you refer clients who need accounting or financial system help. You keep the relationship, Argus handles the engagement, and you take on no delivery risk or project liability.
This page is for managed services providers whose clients run Dynamics GP, Business Central, QuickBooks, or another accounting system that has stopped keeping up. Argus Consulting Group has been working on those systems since 1989.
Your clients rely on you for everything IT. Infrastructure, security, M365, endpoints. Most of them also run an accounting system — Dynamics GP, Business Central, QuickBooks, or something else they’ve outgrown or misconfigured. And at some point, they ask you what to do about it.
That question is either an awkward moment or a revenue opportunity. It depends on who you call.
Accounting and financial system work isn’t typical MSP territory. You’re not expected to know it. But when a client is staring down a reporting problem, a migration decision, or a system their old partner stopped supporting, you need someone you can hand them to who won’t let you down and won’t go around you.
That’s what this program is built for. You stay the trusted advisor. We handle the accounting system work. Your client gets the expertise they need. And you don’t take on any delivery risk to make it happen.
No Accounting System Expertise Required
You don’t need to know Dynamics GP, Business Central, or QuickBooks to refer a client. You don’t participate in delivery. You don’t take on project liability. If your client has an accounting or financial system challenge, you make the introduction and we take it from there.
The program in plain terms:
What you are not on the hook for
- MSPs do not need accounting system expertise
- MSPs do not participate in delivery
- MSPs do not take on project liability
And what you get
- MSPs do get compensation or mutual benefit for qualified referrals
- MSPs do get recurring revenue on their own stack
- MSPs do get strategic involvement in discovery and roadmap planning
What Argus Brings to the Partnership
Referring a client to Argus isn’t a one-way street. We structure every MSP partnership around mutual benefit — and what that looks like depends on what works for your business.
Some partners prefer direct financial compensation for qualified referrals. Others operate in environments where that’s not an option and value the arrangement differently — mutual referrals, joint discovery involvement, account protection, and the downstream revenue that comes from their own stack when a client modernizes. We’ve worked with both.
The specifics get worked out in the discovery call. But the starting point is simple: if you send us a client, we want you to benefit from it in a way that actually makes sense for how you operate.
What MSP Partners Get
How to Spot a Referral Opportunity
You don’t need to diagnose accounting system problems to recognize them. You probably hear these from clients already and don’t realize they’re looking at an Argus conversation.
Listen for these:
“Our reports don’t match what’s actually in the system.”
“We’re spending way too many hours on manual data entry.”
“Our old GP partner isn’t returning calls anymore.”
“Everyone’s telling us to switch to Business Central but we’re not ready.”
“We have one person who knows how this system works and if she leaves, we’re done.”
“Month-end close takes three weeks. It used to take one.”
“Our integrations keep breaking and nobody knows how to fix them.”
“We know we’re not using the system the way we should be.”
Any of those is a warm introduction. You mention that you work with an accounting system consulting team. We handle it from there.
A few questions you can ask your clients today:
- “What are you using for your financial system? How’s it working?”
- “Are there repetitive tasks your accounting team wishes they could automate?”
- “How confident are you in the financial reports coming out of your system?”
- “Have you thought about what happens when GP hits its end-of-life in 2029?”
If the answer reveals pain, that’s a conversation we should be in.
What Happens When You Refer a Client
Your client gets a partner with 33 years of Dynamics GP and ERP experience. We modernize accounting and financial systems — from Dynamics GP and Business Central to QuickBooks and beyond. Whatever system your client is running, we’ve seen the problems before and we know how to fix them.
Argus is a senior-team-only shop in Pasadena, California, serving clients nationwide. When you refer someone, they talk directly to the consultant who’ll work on their system. No routing queue. No hand-off to whoever’s available.
What we handle:
- Accounting system optimization and configuration — most clients are only using about 30% of what their system can do
- Cloud hosting for Dynamics GP
- Custom integrations — Bill.com, payroll, HR systems, expense management platforms
- System migrations — GP to Business Central, QuickBooks to Business Central, and more
- Ongoing support under annual evergreen contracts
We don’t push clients toward a specific platform. We assess the situation and give honest advice — stay, optimize, or migrate. On the client’s timeline, not ours.
How Modernization Expands Your Own Revenue
When a client modernizes their accounting system, it rarely stops there. Migrations and upgrades often involve Azure hosting, Entra ID configurations, security alignment, M365 workflow changes, endpoint updates. These aren’t accounting system deliverables — they’re yours.
During discovery, we identify those gaps. We don’t try to fill them. We surface them to you.
Where MSP partners typically see add-on revenue:
Azure infrastructure
VMs, SQL hosting, networking, monitoring
Identity and security
Entra ID, MFA, conditional access, Intune
Modern Workplace
Teams, SharePoint, Power Platform governance
Managed services
helpdesk, endpoint management, backup and DR
No requirement to attach any of them. But they show up in nearly every engagement we run.
How the Referral Process Works
-
Step 1
You spot the opportunity.
A client mentions reporting problems, frustration with manual processes, a system their old partner abandoned, or a migration question they can’t get a straight answer on. That’s the signal.
-
Step 2
You make the introduction.
Reach out with a brief description of the situation. We confirm fit and suggest how to frame the introduction.
-
Step 3
We run a complimentary systems review.
We assess the client’s financial system, identify what’s working and what isn’t, and give them an honest recommendation. Your client gets real value whether or not they hire us. And you get to offer something concrete — not just “I know a guy who does ERP.”
-
Step 4
We handle everything from there.
Proposal, delivery, support. We keep you in the loop and include you in roadmap planning.
-
Step 5
You stay the hero.
Your client got the outcome they needed. The relationship is yours. The add-on opportunities are yours.

What MSPs Ask Before Signing Up
What if you start selling IT services to my clients?
We don’t. Argus modernizes accounting and financial systems. That’s it. No managed IT, no network security, no help desk. We put that in the partner agreement. Infrastructure gaps we find go to you, not our sales team.
How do I know you’ll take care of my client?
We’ve been doing this since 1989. Clients stay on annual contracts because the expertise is real and the advice doesn’t come with an agenda. We assess the situation, give honest options, and let clients decide on their own timeline. That’s what your client will get.
What if I want to stay involved beyond the introduction?
You’re in the discovery call. You’re in the roadmap reviews. The relationship stays yours throughout.
What systems do you work with?
Dynamics GP, Business Central, QuickBooks, and related Microsoft accounting and financial platforms. If your client is running something we haven’t worked with, we’ll tell you upfront.
What does no delivery commitment mean in practice?
You make the introduction. We scope, deliver, and support. You’re welcome to attend discovery and roadmap calls — but you’re never on the hook for any of the accounting system work.
Questions Partners Ask
Does my MSP need to be a Microsoft partner to participate?
No. You need to work with clients who have accounting or financial system challenges. That’s the relevant starting point.
How long does a typical engagement take?
Optimization projects usually run 4–12 weeks. System migrations typically take 3–6 months. Support and hosting contracts are ongoing.
What if my client isn’t ready to do anything yet?
Still worth a conversation. A lot of clients are in research mode, especially with GP end-of-life approaching in 2029. We won’t pressure them into a decision. The relationship starts with a complimentary systems review and honest advice.
Can I refer a client who’s already talking to another partner?
Depends on where they are. Reach out and describe the situation. If there’s room for us to help, we’ll say so. If they’re mid-engagement elsewhere, we’ll tell you that too.
What Your Referred Clients Actually Get
Argus also works across six industries and a wider set of accounting and financial system solutions. Microsoft’s Business Central documentation covers that platform itself.
