Do you specialize in one industry, or work across all of them?
Argus works across all seven, healthcare, nonprofit, manufacturing and distribution, financial services, media, government, and retail, rather than specializing in one. What carries across every one of them is the platform. We’ve worked with Dynamics GP since 1993, so the reporting patterns, the audit controls, and the integration points are already familiar to us on day one, even when the rules a particular industry has to answer to are not.
What actually changes about a financial system from one industry to the next?
What changes between industries is the reporting, the controls, and the integrations, not usually the general ledger underneath. A nonprofit reports by fund and by grant. A manufacturer reports by cost and inventory. A government agency reports for audit and procurement. Same ledger. Different questions. The same Dynamics GP install can serve all three, and the work sits in how it is configured, what gets automated, and which outside platforms feed it so nobody is entering the same invoice twice.
Is Dynamics GP still a safe platform for my industry?
Yes, Dynamics GP remains a safe platform, with Microsoft updates running through December 2029, security patches through April 2031, and an Argus commitment to support it through 2036. That is seven years past Microsoft’s published end-of-life date. GP doesn’t stop working. The support date passes and the software keeps posting transactions exactly as it did the day before. You get time to plan.
What does an industry assessment cost?

You get a look at what your system is doing today, where the manual work is piling up, and what it would take to fix it, whether that turns out to be a configuration change, a new integration, cloud hosting, or a move to Business Central. We’re a government agency. Can you work inside our procurement and audit requirements?
Yes, and those requirements shape the design from the start rather than getting bolted on later. Public-sector financial systems run on accountability, procurement rules, auditability, long timelines, and institutional knowledge that has to survive staff turnover, which is a very different starting point from a private company that can change its process on a Monday. If your reporting has to satisfy GASB standards and an annual audit, that is a configuration question long before it is a platform question.
We’re already in migration conversations with another partner. Is it too late for a second opinion?
No, a second opinion before you sign costs far less than a migration you didn’t need. Argus earns revenue from GP support and from Business Central migration, both, so the recommendation you get isn’t tilted toward whichever service line happens to pay more that quarter, or whichever one is easier for us to staff. Sometimes it’s yes. Sometimes we tell people the platform was never the problem.
